Then we celebrated Independence Day with a going away party for our dear friends Jeremiah and Kellie King. We've known them since the guys were in OTS together 10 years ago and we've followed each other to every base since. Now they're headed to Vegas and we won't be following. It'll be so sad not having them close by anymore. Hopefully our paths will cross again. After the party we went back to our neighborhood and enjoyed a fire in the fire pit with fireworks overlooking the pond! It was the perfect end to a great day!

July (first half)
July got off to a great start with the Spouse's Taxi Ride. I really didn't think I would even get chosen because there were only 10 slots and it was such late notice, so it was an honor to even get chosen. Basically the 10 of us got to suit up in flight suits and g-suits and listen to a brief on what to expect. Then we stepped out to the jet and got strapped in. We were 'armed' at the end of the runway, did a short taxi ride down the runway and were 'de-armed' at the other end of the runway. I say short taxi ride because when your going 100mph ground speed it takes like 3 seconds to get down the runway. Those of you that know me, know I get motion sickness very easily. The great thing about this ride was that the a/c worked great inside the jet and it all happened so quick that I really didn't have time to get sick! It was seriously such a thrill to sit in the backseat and look at all the different radars and operate the radio systems. I can't believe my husband gets to do this everyday as his job. It is really easy to see how these guys can be so arrogant. Just suiting up and doing all the stuff of the day made me feel (pardon my language) like a badass! I had to watch my driving on the way home because I was still feeling 'the need for speed'! I'm so grateful for all the guys that made this day possible and my pilot, Tarrdyy, for showing me the ropes.

May
In May we celebrated Mother's Day and my birthday. We also traveled to Houston to visit Mike's family and celebrate Morgan's baptism. The biggest accomplishment in May came from Mike - he completed his Master of Aeronautical Science degree! We've all sacrificed quite a bit for that diploma and I'm so proud of him and relieved to have that box checked!
Happy Mother's Day! |
Strawberry picking with Kennedy's school. It was a first to me and it was so much fun not to mention the farm was about 3 miles from our house! |
We absolutely support Blue Bell! |

Fun at the Houston Zoo. |
The zoo can be exhausting! |
Jackson showing us how it's done at Top Golf. If you ever get the opportunity to go to one of these, you absolutely should. It was so much fun and I'm not a golfer. |
